The parts that protect you are. The OS build tree, display layer, logbook format, and the independent verifier are open — so you can check every claim we make without trusting us. The application suite is our commercial layer; one signing method is patent-pending with publication scheduled for 2027. We publish exactly where the line is.
You lose nothing. Your data is plain files on your disk, the app keeps running, and the open verifier means your proofs stay checkable forever. We built it so you never depend on us.
If your machine can run a modern browser, it can almost certainly run HOM3 — Windows, macOS, or Linux. The core is light. The optional local AI scales with your hardware: smaller models run happily on modest machines; larger models enjoy more RAM or a GPU. Neither is required to own and use HOM3.
No. The logbook timestamps to a public record automatically. You never touch it, buy it, or think about it.
No, no, and no. $300 once. We can't see your data — there is no “our servers” for it to be on.
Bug fixes and security patches for your version line are included — delivered as downloads you can verify against published hashes, and you can carry them to an offline machine by hand. Major versions are optional (~$100–150); declining never takes away what you have.
